What is women’s health?
Women’s health refers to a wide range of care focused on addressing the unique physical, emotional and mental health needs of women throughout their lives. It includes everything from reproductive health and pregnancy care to menopause management and preventive screenings.
Advocate Health Care’s Women’s Health Center provides specialized services in gynecology, obstetrics, breast health and hormonal care. Our specialists offer tailored support for women’s health and wellness.
Is women's health the same as reproductive health?
While women’s health care includes reproductive health, it encompasses so much more. Reproductive health is just one area of focus that specifically addresses the health of your reproductive system, such as fertility, pregnancy, contraception and menopause.
However, women’s health care extends beyond reproductive health to cover the full spectrum of a woman’s health and wellness. This includes heart health, mental health, bone health and disease prevention.

Our Women’s Health Center is here to address all of your health care concerns. We use the latest technology and techniques and offer the highest-quality standards in care.
Our mammography program, along with our obstetrics program, gives women access to the vast experience of our network of health care professionals for the most comprehensive care available for mom and baby. Our commitment to women's health is also evident in our noninvasive, pain-free techniques such as DEXA scanning for osteoporosis – the thinning of bones.
We’re also here for your woman’s annual exam, which is slightly different than a well-woman exam you get during a visit with your gynecologist or obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN).
