Qué llevar al departamento de emergencias

Emergencies are often unexpected. Yet at some time in our lives, most of us will need immediate medical care for ourselves, our child, parent, or other family member.

Estos son algunos elementos importantes que debe tener a mano en caso de emergencia:

• Nombre y número de teléfono del médico de atención primaria para usted o su familiar
• Identificación y tarjeta de seguro de salud, que incluye información sobre cualquier requisito de precertificación o limitaciones de cobertura
• List of all medications being taken, including the doses and how often they're taken
• Lista de medicamentos y suplementos de venta libre que esté tomando, como analgésicos, vitaminas y productos herbales
• NOTA: If a list of medications is not available or known, bring a bag containing the patient's medications
• Next few doses of the patient's medications
• Lista de todas las alergias conocidas y cualquier afección médica crónica
• Cualquier equipo médico especial necesario

A friend or family member who can help interpret or provide additional information about the patient's history or illness.
